An encore performance at Brian & Silvia's, this time it was Cajun food. I don't have pictures, but we served; shrimp remoulade, shrimp creole, seafood & andouille gumbo, red beans & rice, baked pork chops in onion gravy and bread pudding. Spent three days in preparation, and it went smooth until some of the gravy spilled in the hot oven. The food was unharmed, but it got a little smokey.
This was pizza night at the home of our friends Brian and Silvia. We made 12 Italian style pizze for a group of adults and children. So far, the pizza is a consistent winner.
The girls keep asking for beets since I made this. The meat is grilled tri-tip with a wet spicy marinade. The beets were wrapped in foil and baked for about two hours, then sliced, and topped with oil and red wine vinegar. The baked potatoes were washed, pierced with a fork, coated with olive oil & salt, then baked until ~195'F. I never knew a beet could taste so good!
Chicken breast coated with bread crumbs and parmegiano reggiano, and acorn squash and smashed potatoes. Enjoyed by all... and very simple.
We brought some "festival" bratwurst back from Wisconsin. Boiled in beer and onions, then grilled; and the Badgers beat the Gophers!
Grilled King Crab legs. Bella loves them dipped in butter, but Emilia likes them plain...
Summertime cooking. Roasted peppers, Sweet corn and Steak.
